 Palace Theatre Remembers project.

Kirsten Hutton, Head of Learning and Participation, says: ‘As part of the on-going project, we will be asking people to document any memories of the theatre they have.  These memories can be as far reaching as 100 years ago or as close as yesterday, we are interested in them all.’

She continues: ‘We have also appointed a local artist to work with targeted groups in the community. This and other material we collect will culminate in an exhibition to be launched on 7th November.  The work will be on display at Watford Palace Theatre, Watford Museum and Watford Central Library.’

The exhibition will run for the duration of this year’s panto Dick Whittington and his Cat, November 27- January 3. The Palace Theatre Remembers project is funded by Awards For All (lottery grants for local groups).

If you have a memory or story that you would like to share with us please email learning@watfordpalacetheatre.co.uk or call 01923 810307.  You can also respond by writing on the blog at www.palacetheatreremembers.blogspot.com

Postcards for any memories people have will be available from the theatre, Watford Central Library and Watford Museum at the beginning of September.

Other centenary celebrations in the autumn include the Milestones performance on Friday, November 14 & Saturday, November 15; Intervals on Sunday, November 16 and the Fundraising Gala Performance on Saturday, 13 December.

Watford Palace Theatre receives regular funding support from Watford Borough Council and Arts Council England East.
